The Imagination Project.

 

Amoeba is searching for 4 teaching artists. Two workshop leaders and two workshop assistants for a project on February 26,27,28th, 2015 in Korea.

 

Theatre Amoeba has been invited by the APAC (Asia Pacific Activities Conference) Theatre Festival to provide an intensive devising theatre workshop. This theatre festival combines experienced theatre students from six international schools throughout Asia and culminates in a final performance.

 

The workshop leaders will be taking participants on a jouney exploring movment, imagination and devising theatre. Each group will have 15 students maximum. 

 

On Day 1- Amoeba workshop leaders will teach 4 goups of students.  There will be two Amoeba teaching teams.

 

On Day 2- Students will create their own ensemble performance and workshop leaders will facilitate and guide students.

 

On Day 3- Ensemble Students will practice their final performance with their facilitators in the morning and they have tech rehearsals in the afternoon.

 

Duties (these will be divided up).  Teaching Artists must be willing:

 

  • to work with Theatre Amoeba on curriculum development- this will be a collaborative effort done via distance and skype as well as between workshop leaders and assistants.

  • teach devised theatre to teens and love doing that--- really love doing that---- really really love doing that!

  • document the experience on the Amoeba blog and participate in social networking to be further organized and discussed.

  • meet in Seoul or Daejeon December 18th or 19th. TBA 

  • Be available full time from February 25th-28th. Teachers will arrive in Daejeon for 4:00 on Wednesday the 25th. (There will be no teaching on the 25th- Just a chance to get aquainted with the space, have a welcome dinner and meet the other international teaching artists). Those departing from Seoul will be on the 2:00 train.

  • to inspire rigorous play from students.

 

Artist fee:

  • Transportation to Daejeon. One KTX Round Trip Ticket from Seoul.

  • Three meals on Thursday, Friday and Saturday and breakfast on Sunday. Snacks in between sessions.

  • A single room for each instructor for the accommodation and will be responsible for the transportation between hotel and school.

  • Teaching Payment will be negotiated depending on experience. Workshops Leaders will have more responcibilities and experience and will thus recieve a higher fee. Email for more information.
